The NHS across Essex will be better prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases if the public follows Public Health England advice.
We have put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff which may mean your patient experience is subject to change.
The Chief Medical Officer announced on Friday 13th March that the country has moved into the "Delay" stage of the response to coronavirus (Covid-19)
The new advice issues by the Prime Minister is to stay at home for 14 days if one member of the household is affected and if you have either:
a high temperature (37.8C or above) or
a new continuous dry cough
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will NOT be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
